Once you get Fixated with owning countless pretty shoes, there is no coming back. If you are like me, you would often buy a pair of shoes first and plan an outfit around it. I have been looking for pale yellow flats for sometime and while scouring the internet and shopping malls, I was pleased to see some really charming traditional footwear trending now. It is delightful to see how our local artisans are blending traditional and modern shoe craft such impeccably. So, I am sharing a few styles and designs you should flaunt this season.
The Kohatis
For centuries, Kohati remained a hot shoe statement for men, until recently when we saw the revival of a whole range of Kohatis specially designed for women. The brands like Chapter 13 and Mochari have the greatest variety of ethnic and funky Kohatis. Also, the small scale crafters like Gul Khan are making a rather casual version of this beauty. You can get them at Daraz as well, but the design options are limited.
Peshawari Sandals
I fell flat on these!
As much as men always love to adorn these, now women equally find them comfortable and chic. From embroidered, hand painted, mirrored, banarsi to plain Peshawaris, you can get a a huge design variation or have them custom made too. I specially loved the designs at Mochari and Milli shoes Liberty. None of such designs are available widely at the shopping malls in Karachi. *Sadness*
Kolapuris
A comfy, slim chappal with a dark brown base and and multi colored paint or thread work! These are the types of Kolapuris I have been wearing my entire life (No, I am not that old by the way). This statement footwear is now seeing quite some revolution in the shape and color scheme. The local brands are redefining Kolapuris with a contemporary twist and the beautiful hand painted ones are specially trending! I found the range by SNF and Mochari pretty impressive!
Kundan Khussa
Can Khussas get any prettier? This is the design I am drooling over. Kundan is a famous bead used in jewelry and it looks equally dreamy bedecked on khussas. You can get them online easily on Sheops *that’s where I came across them in the first place* and don’t forget to wear a cute kundan anklet to compliment the look.
