You must already know about the launch of Note cosmetics in Pakistan in collaboration with JDot. Note is a Turkish brand that claims to use natural oils in the manufacturing of all its cosmetics. This line of makeup was launched last year and since then Jdot has made it available in all outlets and on the official website. I don’t see the brand promoting their makeup line probably as much as they should, but I got to try Note cosmetics in the bloggers meet last month held by Jdot. I received this matt lipstick in the swag bag, so here is a quick review in case you are curious about Note.
The Product
The shade is called “Miss Kiss”. It might appear dark brownish in the pictures, but it actually gives a nude peachy shade on application. It has a matte yet smooth finish that is probably attributed to the Macadamia Oil and Vitamin E formula.
Brand and Packaging
The packaging is not anything out of the box, but definitely neat and classy. The lipstick comes in a black case with a slightly opaque cap which is a distinction of Note matte lipsticks and gives the product an exclusive look. All of the matte lipsticks have unique names and numbers like “Miss Kiss 303” in review here.
Shade, Texture, and Scent
“Miss Kiss” is a subtle day color, quite dense but not very pigmented. I noticed the scent which is somewhat but not entirely like vanilla and fades away after a few minutes. The lipstick has a moisturizing texture and a smooth consistency but it stays on lips for only 2 to 3 hours. While using Matte lipsticks, I always dread the formation of nasty lines on lips after a few hours, but luckily I didn’t notice any such thing. Since the weather is a little dry, so I applied a little lip balm before wearing this shade, thus giving off a nice sheen on lips. Dramatic smoky eyes go perfectly well with this shade, but you can wear it otherwise too if nude is your color.
The Suitable Skin tones
I am not very fond of nude shades mainly because I love wearing darker lip colors. Miss Kiss is the second nude that I have after Mac, but I found it much better in terms of long lasting texture as compared to Mac. The pigmentation appears brown but it turns into a perfect nude on application so I believe it is suitable for every skin tone.
Price and Availability
I found the price quite reasonable for a decent performing lipstick like Note. The texture is almost similar to Mac but obviously not as super matte and firm as Color Studio Matte lipsticks. But if you are looking for Mac quality matte, you will find little difference in quality and price. You can get it on Jdot’s official website or at any of their outlets for Rs 885.
The Verdict?
- Moisturizing texture but low pigmentation
- Smooth consistency
- Not very long lasting
- Doesn’t get dry
- Reasonably Priced
Note matte is perfect as a casual day lip color but I won’t recommend it to you for a dramatic, intense long lasting lip shade.
If you have tried any other product by Note, let me know because I have been planning to buy some other items too!
