Eid Mubarak my soul people! For most of us, Eid celebrations go on for weeks, phuppo ki dawat, khala ki dawat, dur wali aunty ki dawat, man! we don’t get enough of them because we are the happy, welcoming people. But guess what was even way amazing for me? I gave myself a Eid Holiday and I am the luckiest person alive.
Here comes the most conventional question girls ask each other. How was your Eid? what did you wear? What’s this lip shade you are wearing? So I am sharing my Eid day picks in today’s week unwind because I did nothing this week but only prepare and got things done.
The Dress
My eid dress kahani was sad in the beginning, but it turned into a happily ever after. I got a shirt stitched way before ramadan, but as the weather turned insanely hot, I knew that dress won’t be too comfortable. Plus it looked a bit plain for Eid (ask my dad), so I ended up buying a kurti from J. Junaid Jamshed. Usually I dont wear this brand as their sizes are always too large for me and even the casual shirts are too fancy for my taste. But when it comes to wearing formals, J dot is a safe choice. Luckily, I found this really pretty, traditional kurti with no excessive bling bling. It is made of cotton net with a gold zari and resham emboridery on the front and an elaborate heavy net & embroidery pattern at the back. I also came across a red chunri dupatta there perfectly in contrast with the kurti and paired the dress with white tulip shalwar which I already had.
Kurti-Rs 4000/ *after 10% discount on membership card*
Dupatta-Rs 1500/
Tulip Shalwar-Got it stitched by my tailor for Rs 600/
Sandals
These minimalistic flats are from Sulafah. This new brand in town has some really pretty traditional and contemporary footwear. I chose this first because it compliments my blue kurti and second because I feel the open, less strappy sandals make my feet look prettier. I find the cute pearl on the toe strap most flattering, and the best part is, I will be able to wear it casually too! Ek teer se 2 shikar! I got these for Rs 2500/ which is probably a little expensive but thankfully it didnt leave me bankrupt! :p
Janu Jhumkas
If you are a jewelry freak like me, you must be well aware of the pain of strolling around the markets to get your perfect jewelry piece! I call them Janu Jumkas because I found something as pretty as them after searching the whole universe. I bought these at my sister’s wedding but thought of recycling them this eid. They match ideally well with the deep gold embroidery of my kurti! I dont exactly remember but they were for Rs 850/ I guess and I got them from Chaseup Kashmir road.
Makeup
I tried keeping makeup slightly peachy and opted for subtle sea green eye shade. These are the brands/shades I wore
- Pure Matt Phantom lipstick by Color studio
- Freedom system eye shadow in sea green by Inglot
- Exaggerate water proof eye definer (Aqua shade) by Rimmel
- Black gel eyeliner by DMGM
- Color studio professional matt foundation
- Peach blush by ETUDE
My Mojo!
This dude Mr Cheeku Cooper is my mojo! Although most of the time he keeps behaving like a cat *because he is a cat*, his presence is enough to turn every moment super loving and cheerful! This post goes to you Cheeku! Say hello to him!
Above all, I also wore a smile, and nothing is worth a charming one! This is all from my side! What was you Eid look? Too desi? simple? or completely blingy? Leave your comments here and you can also follow me on snapshat @hina.ilyas4!
Have the happiest weekend!
