Note-Mattemoist-Sugar-Kiss-review

I get the best stuff when I am not really looking for it. The same happened when I casually visited Jdot store to window shop and ended up buying this beautiful Note cosmetics Lipgloss Sugar Kiss.

Mattemoist lipglosses by Note cosmetics are quite popular and raved about for their silky texture and cool shades. Though I am fond of darker lip shades as they become my brown skin, I am surprised how well this subtle shade compliments my skin tone. I am sharing the swatches and review of Sugar Kiss here.

Packaging

Sugar kiss comes in a square transparent packaging and a twist around cap. It is enclosed in a black cardboard box with product description highlighted in white. As its a transparent bottle the shade is clearly apparent and easily identifiable. The sleek, and long applicator is very convenient and covers almost all types of lip curves.

Texture, Color, and Pigmentation

Sugar kiss has a pillow-soft, soothing texture without any powdery drying feel mainly because vitamins and hydrating oils constitute this mattemoist lip gloss. While the weather is really hot, the texture is formulated in a way that the product does not bleed, instead, it gives a moisture rich feel which is mostly otherwise lost in the matte formula. It’s really creamy so there is a chance it can bleed, hence you need to be careful with the amount of application.

As for the color, it might come off a bit too nude, but when I swatched it, the shade turned out beautiful pinkish nude. I think its an ideal shade for medium brown to fair skin tones. But for darker skin tones, you may want to add a darker shade to avoid wash out. Thankfully, I swatched it on my lips right at the store, as the swatches are always different on the wrist and on the lips.

Coming to pigmentation, its quite heavily pigmented for a lip gloss, so a little quantity would be sufficient for a beautifully rich application.

Also, the product promises to last for about 7 hours, but in reality, it does for 3 to 4 hours, so a re-application will be required.

Sugar kiss has a subtle vanilla fragrance which is quite comfortable for people like me who are allergic to strong smells.  It takes about a minute to dry and feels very comfortable on the lips, unlike the glosses that dry hard giving off a parched texture.

Price

The original price of Note cosmeticss Mattemoist lip gloss is Rs. 985 but I got it on sale for Rs. 799.

Is Note Sugar Kiss Worth Trying?

The shade is a bit tricky but I LOVE the creamy comfortable super silky texture. Sometimes, I couple a darker lip shade to avoid wash off and at times I wear the sheer shade depending on the type of makeup I like to flaunt with a particular dress. The best part is, it is quite affordable yet give a high-end gloss feel!

  1. What a wonderful shade. Looks good for everyday office look. I have been using DMGM’s photofix in Bahama Spice. Almost the same colour, might be a tad bit darker. Definitely trying this out the next time.
