If you attended the Lifebuoy high 5 for hand washing event, you have witnessed the groundbreaking CSR activity hosted by Unilever Pakistan!
Celebrities and individuals from all walks of life came together to celebrate the 9th global hand washing day which turned into a sight to be remembered. How often do we think about the healthcare and hygiene awareness? But as a part of CSR initiative Unilever promoted this healthy habit by pledging to wash hands. Lifebuoy also created history by breaking the Guinness world record of most number of double high fives in relay in 60 seconds.
People gathered in the PAF museum on 22nd October to participate in this grand event. Fahad Mustafa hosted the event along with Adnan Siddiqui, Anoushey Ashraf, Saira Kabeer and Yasir Hussain. Celebrities all over the country were excited to be a part of #High5Save5 and called out to their fans to be a part of this campaign, amongst there were, Ali Zafar, Waseem Akhram, Sajal Aly, Feroze Khan, Syra Yusuf, Shahroze Sabzwari, Shahzad Shiekh, Aashir Wajahat, Sonya Hussain, Ahsan Khan, Zhalay Sarhadi, Hareem Farooq and many others.
Lifebuoy made a difference this year by its collective effort in encouraging people to #High5forHandWashing. The brand aimed to inculcate the habit of hand washing with soap for each High5 for the purpose of teaching the importance of personal hygiene. Why it was important to encourage this habit is apparent from the researches which show that 1.7 million children are unable to reach their fifth birthday due to easily preventable diseases such as diarrhea and pneumonia. Most of these lives can be saved through simple practices like hand washing with soap which is one of the most effective and low cost prevention for illnesses like diarrhea and pneumonia.
A huge turnaround of people from the city speaks for the need of powerful platform where health and hygiene message can be extended to billion of people. Through its social mission, Lifebuoy is striving to impact over a billion lives around the world by 2020.
