Last week I posted the DIY for candle holder, so following this series, I am sharing how to make a dazzling jewelry box out of CDs. I have seen pinterest bursting with countless jewelry box DIYs but most of them are quite complex and require a lot of craft supplies, so I thought I should go ahead and create a simple one myself.
It is a very easy DIY like the last one, but requires some careful handling as you will be cutting the CDS into a lot of tiny pieces, the edges of which can be quite sharp! So keep safety in mind and set off to make this beautiful jewelry box! Here we go!
THINGS YOU NEED
Just four simple items! Open your craft/stationary box and pick the following:
- Old CD
- Super glue
- A box that you will mosaic (I used this box I received as a wedding keepsake and I actually store my jewelry in it, so thought of renewing it.
HOW TO DIY?
Cut the CD into pieces of different sizes and shaped. Do it until you get enough pieces to mosaic your box. Don’t forget to put down a spare sheet or paper before getting started because cutting CDS can be quite messy. I find cutting along the CD easier!
Spread glue on the top and sides of the box and start laying the pieces down so that they fit like a puzzle! If you can’t find any fitting piece, cut a new one in the required size. I first fixed the pieces on top and then proceeded t decorating the sides.

Happy DIYing (is that even a word?)!
