When someone says Pakistan is gifted with immensley talented crafters and artists, take it very seriously. In the past few years, our local crafters have earned real love and acclaim not only across Pakistan but all over the world, for which part of the credit goes to a few organziations and people who selflessly support and pave ways for these artists. Indie art & craft show hosted by the Crafter’s guild is one such event where artists all over Pakistan come together and display their unique, hand made work. Indie, which is going to be held on the 17th of July will be a visual treat for all art and craft lovers. This year, there are a few artists and crafters I am specially looking froward to and sharing with you! Have a look!
From rustic vintage artwork to literature inspired bookmarks, we are wonderstruck by these seriously creative doodles! It would be right to say that this brand is haunted by Rida’s creative spirit because she loves experimenting with designs and textures only to end up with unique stuff. Potter heads, its going to be a treat for you too and my eyes are fixed on Jane Austin inspired goodies *drools*
This caught my attention and I couldn’t help but admire the splash of colors this brand has to offer. Kamaash is a color happy, retro inspired label offering products ranging from clothes, clutches, footwear and home decor items. The funky, hand painted kettles and classic movie inspired wall panels are the real visual treats. You would like to have a look at their Indie showcase if you want to add a pop of color around your home!
Muneeza Khan’s art shop “The Vintage Nerd” is no less than an art symphony! She is an uberly talented artist skilled in creating bold, intricate and quirky art for fashion & home decor items. She calls her shop a wonderland and we ought to agree for the dreamy, creative artwork she creates! You can find her work display at Booth 52/Hall 3 at the Indie Art & craft show!
Triple chocolate brownies, rainbow fudge cake, vintage assorted sugar cookies, lemon cookies and anything that you would like to customize, Terry treats knows how to bring finesse, detailing, and creativity to simple sweet delights! Let’s see what delectable baked goods they are going to bring to the Indie art show. I am already putting dibs on their chocolate ganache cupcakes!
This is the major highlight of the event this year. Sara is a professional Henna artist who has developed an FDA approved white henna formula which has been done on celebrities all over the world. Her brand is based in Hong Kong but it’s your chance to get white Henna done as she will be showcasing in Indie!
Shafia is a truly gifted artist and it shows all over her art shop La vie en Rose. Her work includes painting, drawings, digital designs, and artwork for different lifestyle and fashion accessories. I specifically love her digital printed Charmeuse Silk scarfs which are gorgeous enough to turn simple attire into a complete eye candy!
This Hyderabad based brand is synonymous for handmade fabric purely made in Pakistan. The ethnic designs are well blended with the contemporary cuts and style to keep up with the modern day look. Naeema will be showcasing her simple yet traditional hand woven, ready to wear kurtis in Indie!
I am all for charming candles these days and Bee Flair makes home made beeswax, environment friendly candles in numerous scents. They also have aromatherapy and Citronella insect repellent candles which clears air from bacteria. Besides, beeswax makes a great choice for those who are allergic to paraffin wax! So, this is going to be one of my happy stops at Indie. How about I buy a few and do a review on blog? Yes? Cool!
Happiness is Handmade!
These are some of the labels worth stopping by. You will be awed by various forms of such soulful work, so I am hoping to see you all at the Indie Art & Craft show!
